international relations: theories and approaches revisits established theories of international relations (ir) through perspectives from the global south and challenges the prevalent eurocentrism in the discipline. the discipline of ir is expanding from the politics of few dominant states and nations to incorporate activities and role of other states and non-state actors, including international organisations, supranational entities, ngos, transnational advocacy networks and multinational corporations. there is a need to capture these transformations in the contemporary globalised and multilateral world and explore new approaches to study these actors and issues at different fronts- security, politics, economics, and society. this edited volume evaluates some of the foundational ir theories and approaches from a ‘non-western’ perspective. it moves beyond great debates and paradigm wars to include newer contestations from the global south to de-provincialise ir as an academic discipline. this book will be of great interest to not only students of ir but anyone who has a general interest in the subject.
